So you're in the market for towel racks for your bathroom, but do you know what kind you want? A lot of this is going to depend on what type of bathroom you have, how much space you have and what kind of decorative theme you have in place. In this article were going to focus on those who are living in an apartment or small house and need to make the most of their small space.
While it's a given that towel racks are needed in the bathroom, you have a small amount of space to work with and therefore you need to maximize that space. The good news is that while towel racks seem like they're big bulky items, there are some out there that can work with your space constraints and be made to fit into whatever space you have available.
Freestanding Towel Stand
Removable Towel Racks
The first kind of towel racks we're going to look at are relatively new on the market, but are a really unique option, especially if you're renting and can't make major changes to the bathroom. These are removable towel racks. They have a special adhesive on the back of the supports that will hold fast to almost any hard surface. But with the right style of adjustment, the adhesive will loosen its grip and allow you to take the rack down and move it elsewhere. In the bathroom, this means that no matter what space you have available, with a little creative designing, you should be able to fit this type of towel rack in to any open an area that has a flat surface
Over The Door Towel Rack
The next option is a towel rack that doesn't even take any wall space. This is the over the door towel rack. When you think about it, probably one of the biggest open spaces you have in the bathroom is the bathroom door. Most people just think of the door as an access to the room and not that it could be a part of the room as well. But by attaching an over the door towel rack, you'll be utilizing this extra space. The way these racks work is that they generally have two metal clips that slide over the top of the door, securely holding in place. Attached to these clips is a rack that goes down the back of the door, on the inside of the bathroom. These racks could have just one or two bars if there aren't many people in the bathroom or can sometimes have up to four bars are, allowing you to hang lots of towels for all the guests you may have.
Freestanding Towel Bars
Another option if you don't have a lot of wall space is used freestanding towel bars. These are just what they sound like, towel racks that are on a stand that can be set on the ground. The nice thing about these is that even in a small bathroom you can move them, as you need to, to be the best place for your usage. For example, you can keep the towel bar in a corner of the bathroom when you're not using it, then pull it over right beside the tub or the shower when you're ready to bathe.
